Nie Yimin ,(1955~),male, professor , doctoral supervisor, the director of the Geographic Information System in Shandong Agricultural University . At the same time ,he is the member of Education and Science Committee in China Association for Geographic Information Service(CAGIS), and executive director of Shandong Real Estate Valuers Association.

Professor Nie was graduated from department of optics in Shandong University and got the bachelor's degree. After graduation ,he works in Shandong Agriculture University till today. Professor Nie has worked in GIS study in Kentucky University from January of 1995 to June of 1996. During this time ,he has served successively as teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor and professor.

Professor Nie gives the undergraduate and graduate lectures such as 《The Geographic Information System Concepts》《Land Information System》《Commonly Used GIS Software》《Application of GIS Design》. Professor Nie achieves the third prize of Shandong Agricultural University higher education teaching results and teaching quality, excellent bachelor's degree thesis guidance teacher, college students' research and training plan outstanding project guide teacher.Land resources use professional doctor graduate student, land resource management, cartography and geographic information system engineering, agriculture information professional master graduate student are recruited by professor Nie. Now 9 full-time doctor, master graduate students are directed by professor Nie.

The main research direction are land resources and GIS. Professor Nie mainly works deal with the study of land resources management and evaluation, agricultural production, food safety, town planning management based on GIS. So far professor Nie have accomplished the national science and technology research programs "Pollution-free high quality wheat production key technology integration and industrialization demonstration",national "the tenth five" major technology special "food safety key technology application comprehensive demonstration" and so on. Now professor Nie is holding Shandong province natural science fund "The Study Of Agriculture Technology Research Information Platform Based On GIS Wireless Services "and "The Database Construction Land Planning At The County Level". At the same time, professor Nie achieves the land use excellent prize of Ministry Of Land And Resources; Science and technology progress second and third prize in Shandong province; the third prize of computerapplication of outstanding achievements in Shandong province. In the meantime, professor Nie has published more than 60 research papers on academic journals in and abroad such as 《Transactions Of The Chinese Society Of Agricultural Engineering》《China Land Science》《Research Of Agricultural Modernization》《Geography And Geo-Information Science》《Computer Science》. 8 papers are published on EI,ISTP.
