Chen Weifeng, male, born in December 1970, is a professor in College of Resources and Environment in Shandong Agricultural University, the Dean of the Department of Pratacultaral Science, the director of Chinese Grass Society, and the leader of experts group in Shandong Turf and Herbage Cultivar Registration Board.
He graduated from Shandong Agricultural University majoring in soil chemical analysis in 1994, received his Agricultural master's degree in 1997 and Agricultural doctor degree in 2004. He went to Kongju National University for brief visit and exchanges three times during 2002 to 2004. Has been working in College of Resource and Environmental in Shandong Agricultural University since July 1994, his working experience includes teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor, professor titles and the dean position.
He gives lectures to postgraduates and graduates such as Water resources and irrigation and drainage engineering, Turf Irrigation and sewerage, Landscape Ecology, Restoration Ecology. He won Shandong agricultural second and third prize for teaching quality and the first and second prize of excellent teaching. He recruits doctoral students of Soil Science and graduate students of Grassland Science and Soil Science and he taught nine the full-time master graduate students.
The research directions mainly include Cultivation and Management of the Lawn and Groundcover Plants, Soil and Wetland Ecology, Land Consolidation, Landscape Planning and Design, etc. He has directed and finished more than 10 items, for instance, the “11th Five-Year Plan” National Science and Technology Support Projects, Science and Technology Department of Shandong Province, Department of Education, international cooperation and other kinds of scientific research subjects. At present he is charging the State Environmental Protection and Public Welfare Industry, the Department of Agriculture research projects, etc. He has got the Second and Third Science and Technology Progress Prize of Shandong province and some other scientific rewards. He has directed and passed two provincial level approved new varieties about the lawn and by-flowers. He has directed and formulated the “Grasses Asexual Reproduction Technology Procedures” of Shandong province. He has published more than thirty-three research papers in the international and domestic academic journals such as International Journal of Plant and Evironment, Chinese Journal of Applied Ecology, Chinese Journal of Grassland, Acta Agrestia Sinica, China Land Science, Journal of Soil and Water Conservation, Pesticides, Practaculture Science and so on. And he is the associate editor of four national planning materials and books.
